Parenting Support
Rural Sky – Realise Your Potential
Navigating Parenting Challenges with Experienced Support
Parenting is rewarding, but it can also be exhausting, confusing, and isolating — especially when your child or teen is struggling emotionally or behaviourally. You don’t need to go through it alone.
Katherine Johnstone, Accredited Mental Health Social Worker, brings years of experience in supporting parents to build stronger, more connected relationships with their children. Her background includes work with the Early Intervention Parenting Service, Child and Youth Mental Health Service, and as a Rural Youth Worker. This experience informs the practical, evidence-based support she now provides to families across rural and regional Australia.
Katherine’s approach integrates Circle of Security and Theraplay-informed principles — both attachment-focused frameworks that help strengthen emotional safety, regulation, and relational trust. These approaches are particularly helpful for families where trauma has been part of the child’s or parent’s experience.
